SEO Strategies - The metrics really matters

Many companies now a days get started with a SEO strategy with the concept in mind - Their website to be number one on Google.  It seems like, for business owners has the only priority to get a high rank whenever discussing Search Engine Optimization, But this is not necessarily the right approach. Of course business owners wants their websites to show up sooner in the search engine results, as it makes your potential clients more likely to visit, But the focus on ranking only is not the way to achieve the Online Marketing Success.

There’s something captivating about ranking as #1 for your the keyword you want, but only a top spot ranking will not grant to your profits or reform your business overall. Ranking is a valued metric within SEO, but ultimately, these become worthless unless they connect to other more important metrics.

Metric 1 - Traffic - Another metric which doesn't radically translate directly to success. High traffic does not means that the website is performing better and the concept of traffic draws more attention that they deserves.

Only high traffic alone are unprofitable unless you break them down and analyze data properly. And if you have problem with it, Google Analytics will help you out to collect data about all the visitors that comes to your website, including where did your visitors come from and what your visitors did while they were there.

Metric 2 - Bounce Rate - Bounce Rate is referred as, if your visitor visits your website and then hits the 'Back' button immediately. Your websites's bounce rate is calculated by the numbers of visitors that bounces  from your website and also the number of people who stay for longer time.
Many people assumes that a lower bounce rate means a better website, but it is not always the case. The thing that you don’t want is your visitors bouncing from your website because they visit under the false impression that they could find something you don’t provide on your website. To fix this problem you will have to improve your Meta description tags for clarity.

Metric 3 - Backlinks - Backlinks at times referred to as incoming links. When it comes to ranking website, backlinks are very valuable metric.

A website with quality links will rank high comparatively website with lower quality links.
Collecting great backlinks is fantastic, but this is not the ultimate goal. Always remember that one link from quality website is worth hundreds from smaller or lesser known websites.

Metric 4 - Conversions - Conversion would be referred to the times your visitors comes to your website and does exactly you want them to do. For example you are running a website development site, your conversions will be the number of people who arrive at your site and purchase your services.

For this reason, Conversion is perhaps the most valued metric, much more important than backlinks, traffic and ranking. For the success in online marketing, your website should regularly formatted to encourage conversions.
